Worship is the centerpiece of all that takes place at The Oaks. In corporate worship, we gather as one body to uplift the name of our Lord. Our response to God's revelation in worship is to scatter to serve in the community at large.
Purpose
The goal of each worship service is to be God-centered, God-focused. With that in mind, every detail of the worship service is carefully and prayerfully planned. Music, scriptures, prayers and the spoken word are woven together to reinforce the central truth for each Sunday. This is a coordinated effort of the pastor and members of the Worship Team. There is a deliberate effort to involve both clergy and laity as worship leaders, representing a cross-section of the congregation without restriction to gender or age.
Worship Style
While staying true to a very traditional model for worship, we freely incorporate contemporary elements alongside more liturgical ones. The singing of hymns and reading of scriptures will be found in every service.
