Hello all!
I have changed my mind on the sermon topic for Sunday...while I am still preaching on the "Feeding of the 5,000" (Matthew 14:13-21), I will be focusing less on the gift angle and more on doing the impossible.
The disciples were commanded by Jesus, "You feed them." It is an emphatic statement in the Greek. In other words, this was not a suggestion, but a command that continues to be ours today.
So while considering how I was going to apply this verse to the sermon, I came across a great article in the Wall Street Journal. It is about the spreading of the Gospel in China, even though organized religion outside of the state sanctioned church is strictly forbidden.
How is the Gospel spread in such a difficult environment? It seems impossible. The answer to that question will be the basis of my sermon Sunday morning.
I want to share this article with you so that you can see just what a few committed people can do when they work together in the service of our God! Here is a copy of the Wall Street Journal article. Thanks for listening, and blessing on your all in the rest of the week.
Now back to sermon writing,
Josh
