Hello all,
This week, we at The Oaks will participate in a powerful service...Deacon Servant Ordination. Deacon Servants are people who have been called by the congregation and asked to lead in light of their outstanding gifts of servant leadership. The Deacon Servants in this church hold no power or authority over church decisions, but they are set apart because of their willingness to serve and minister to all people.
Our two new deacon servants, Bruce Frost and Rita Howard, will have two primary functions: to unify the church, and to serve the members in any way possible. I ask that you pray for them, and that you make them aware of your needs so that they can best serve you. And do not forget, Eugenia McDilda will serve the remaining one year term that was vacated when Susan E. left.
My sermon Sunday, as you can imagine, is about the call to a servant lifestyle...notice it is not just for preachers or for deacon servants, but to all of us who believe in Jesus Christ.
With that in mind, serve someone today. Do something that allows others to go ahead of you. And when you do, I am confident that your actions, even the small ones, will be noticed by God.
I hope you have a wonderful week...I promise to blog more next week.
Thanks,
Josh
Who would have ever thought that Dan Uggla would have a 31 game hitting streak? Does not seem possible in light of his struggles at the plate all season.
