Hey blog friends,
I am glad to be with you today. I really had a great time at my conference and want to say thank you to Rev. Randy Callahan for filling in so admirably while I was away. I cannot express to you how fortunate we are to have a gifted minister like Randy in our congregation who is so willing to serve when called upon.
Our sermon text this week is James 5:13-20. I have entitled the sermon "A job description for the church." Consider this week...if God was our employer, what would we as a church and as individuals do as His workers? What should the church be about? What should we be doing corporately and individually? Read the text, and respond on the comments section or on Facebook. I would love to hear what you have to say about that question.
Thanks for reading,
Josh
Sports Corner (14-4 overall), 4-1 last week.
Still no takers on my sports picks...what do I have to do to get you to compete?
Tennessee vs. UGA
4-0 Bulldogs take on the Tennessee Volunteers in Athens. People are calling this a trap game because of the South Carolina game next week...let's hope not. UT is a tough rivalry who will give UGA a challenge. UGA is more talented man for man, but in games like this, you can never really tell. The line is 14...too many points for me. UGA will win, but closer than the experts think.
GT vs. Middle Tennessee State--really? GT wins big.
Samford vs. Georgia Southern. The Samford Bulldogs are undefeated, but that will end Saturday. GSU wins a close win at home.
College game of the week: Ohio state vs. Michigan state
Tough game to call. Neither team has looked very good this year...OSU has the play makers, but MSU is tough at home. I smell an upset...OSU wins on a last second field goal in East Lansing.
Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons
I picked against the Birds last week, but not this one. Atlanta looks incredible on offense, and their defense has forced the most turnovers in the league. Though Cam Newton is an incredible athlete, he is turnover prone. It think it is a tight game early, but Atlanta pulls away at the end. Wins by 14.
Round up of picks: UGA, GT, GSU, OSU, ATL
