Welcome to The Oaks Baptist Church!

We are a young church in Lyons, Georgia. We admit that we have a unique name. The Oaks has a special meaning for us. The grove of oak trees on the property reminds us of the trees humble beginnings as an acorn. Just like the acorn, this faithful body of believers known as The Oaks will deepen its roots as it reaches out its branches to the surrounding counties.

The word traditional is also a part of our name. We are traditional because we love the old, old, story of Jesus and His love for all persons. We are traditional because we value the historic, cherished principles of the Baptist tradition like the priesthood of believers, local church autonomy, and the authority of the Bible for faith and practice. As Baptist Christians we value the freedom to voluntarily follow the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

While we are rooted in a strong faith tradition, we are excited that we are a new fellowship. We know that the Bible speaks volumes about the excitement of being new in Christ and the need and joy of being renewed in our faith journey.

At The Oaks, we hope to share the love of God in our community so that persons will become new in Christ. If you aren't a Christian, we invite you to join us to hear the message of God's love in Jesus Christ. We want to provide a Christian environment for you to experience that love which will provide a new start for your life.
